WHICH METHOD SHOULD I USE FOR my NS2 PROGRAM? This is actually a very tough question. If you start doing everything, you are getting no where.
As from my research, I have started with LINUX KNOPPIX. Doing dual boot is not easy, I have WINDOWS XP already setup. Then I go to next method which is CYGWIN, I took a lot of time downloading the packages. After that I tried another method UBUNTU running on my WINDOWS XP VMWARE, configuring the network for UBUNTU whether to use bridge or NAT.
Basically, all this method can be categorized to the following:
- dual boot (your current Operating System and the one that you plan to use with NS2)
- VMWARE (virtual machine your (planned NS2) Operating System)
-or just use what ever Operating System that you are using
NS2 on WINDOWS (use CYGWIN) 0r NS2 on Linux
Just pick one method and be focus on it. Don’t ever try to do everything this will make you loose your focus.
